Quality Assurance and Safety Education Plan

Education:

1. Two lectures will be included in the didactic lecture series: 1) Seizure safety (Dr. Alison Pack; 2) Quality Assurance and how it relates to epilepsy (Dr. Alison Pack).
2. One journal club every six months will focus on safety and quality assurance issues.

Projects:

1. Each fellow will have a safety and quality insurance project.
2. Projects and mentors will be identified in July, 2022.

Meetings:

1. Participation of fellows in monthly meetings with hospital staff including administrators, nursing, technologists, and physicians. At these meeting issues pertaining to safety, nursing management including staffing and continuing education of nurses, bed coordination, quality of EEG recordings, and patient satisfaction are discussed. Each fellow will participate for a six month period at these meetings. During these meetings, fellows will be excused from other clinical responsibilities.
