Electives are formalized rotations allowing fellows to pursue clinical and research activities of their interest and choice.
Requirement of electives:
- Written elective request form must be submitted to the education office no later than 30 days for in-house electives (CUIMC) subject to the approval of the Program Director.
- Away electives require no less than 90 days advanced notice to the Education Office, subject to the approval of the Program Director and the GMEC.
- A plan for use of elective time prior to its start with written goals & objectives.
- Faculty member overseeing elective activities who is able to provide verbal feedback and written evaluation at the end of the elective
Examples of Electives Available Include:
- Continuous EEG/seizures in critically ill patients
- Neuropsychiatry
- Epilepsy research
- Intensive outpatient management
- Sleep medicine
- Participation in the Neuromodulation Clinic (Dr. Srinivasan)
- Participation in the Ketogenic Diet Clinic (Dr. McBrian)
