Pediatric Neurology Community Office Elective

Description:

The goal of the elective week at CUMC 86th Street office is to gain clinical knowledge of pediatric neurology outpatient care including conditions such as headaches, autism, epilepsy, sleep, demyelinating disease and movement disorders in a community office.

Objectives:

  • Identify differences in patient care flow of an out-patient community office practice {SBP] 
  • Take relevant history of pediatric neurological conditions including headache, autism, sleep, developmental disorders, epilepsy, demyelinating disease and movement disorders [PK, MK]
  • Identify differences in pediatric and adult management in above conditions [PK, MK, IPC]

Requirements:

  • Attend assigned clinics and see at least one new and one follow-up patient per session
  • While not required, this rotation provides the opportunity to complete your pediatric NEX evaluation
