    TITLE: RECRUITMENT AND APPOINTMENT OF GRADUATE TRAINEES IN ACGME ACCREDITED PROGRAMS

POLICY:

The recruitment of graduate trainees is the responsibility of the Program Directors under the supervision of the Clinical Service Chief.

Whenever possible, graduate trainees should be recruited through the National Resident Matching Program or a similar national organization.

Applicants to ACGME programs should be offered information about the program in keeping with ACGME and institutional policies.

Positions in ACGME programs should not be offered unless the applicant is eligible according to the Policy on Selection, Evaluation, Promotion and Dismissal. In any event, the applicant’s offer of appointment is contingent upon being able to meet all the requirements of appointment.

Requirements of appointment are specified in the Graduate staff agreement and may change from time to time.
