Columbia’s Neurology Department comprises a rich network of academic clinicians involved in innovative and frontrunner research. We are active participants in the multiple local and multicenter multi-disciplinary clinical trials sponsored by the NIH and industry. Fellows are required to play active roles in recruitment, data collection and follow-up, as well as develop original research projects under the mentorship of the Stroke Division Faculty. In their second optional year of Fellowship research activities that are begun in the first year of fellowship are expected to progress to independent research projects supervised by Stroke Faculty mentors.
